Water For People CEO Eleanor Allen to lead RPCVCO March meeting – This Wednesday.

At our Wednesday March meeting on March 21, RPCVCO will again examine our focus area of gender equality with RPCV Eleanor Allen, CEO of Water For People. 

As a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic, then as a consulting engineer (at CH2M and ARCADIS), and now as the CEO of Water For People, Eleanor Allen is fiercely passionate about improving the state of the world with respect to water and sanitation. Eleanor has lived over half her professional life in Latin America and worked all over the world. Experienced in leading multi-cultural, global teams in delivering large (and small) infrastructure programs Eleanor is currently dedicated to leading Water For People to bring reliable and lasting access to safe water and sanitation in Latin America, Africa and India.   A professional civil engineer, Eleanor’s technical area of expertise is design of water and wastewater treatment plants. She has worked across all disciplines in the water sector including municipal, industrial, and water resources in planning, design, construction management, and program management.

About Eleanor Allen:
Eleanor Allen won the Denver Outstanding Women in Business Award in Architecture, Engineering and Construction and was inducted into the Academy for Distinguished Alumni at the University of California at Berkeley. Eleanor is on the Advisory Board at the University of Colorado Mortenson Center for Engineering in Developing Communities and is a Water Environment Federation Fellow. She is a champion for diversity and inclusion, women and girls, and STEM education. Eleanor received her M.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cal and her B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Tufts University. She is a registered professional civil engineer, and board certified environmental engineer, and speaks four languages.
